1989 12 meter Muffler issue Any info would be appreciated

Post by B1gfun »

My1989 12 meter is my dream boat. It unfortunately has had some leaks in the starboard fiberglass muffler. Its a huge beast of a muffler and the holes are on the bottom. It was a bear to pull out, but I did it in under 2 hours.
When pulled there is a huge piece of fiberglass inside that I assume should be attached to the inside of the muffler. I do not know and wonder if someone can point me in the right direction. Are there any diagrams or pics of how this piece should be placed(or what it is or does it have a function). I am going to fix the holes on the bottom, but thought I might as well do the whole job right since i have it out. Please advise and thanks!

Broken baffle , You may need to cut it open to repair it Just when thru this on a Viking 45 . DO NOT use epoxy use a resin with a fire retardant .
