what's the fastest your boat does, I want to see 30 mph, haven't broke over 28 mph on a calm day, downwind with low fuel, twin 225 hp Chrysler 318's

How are you measuring speed!

Most I have ever hit is 27 knots (on GPS - 31 mph) but over the roughly 15 years I have owned the boat have only done this 3-4 times for 30 seconds to 5 minutes each - to see what the boat would do (or make it in time for a lift bridge opening). 3900-4000 RPM, Chrysler 360's, on my '79. Probably had 75% to full water tank and at least 50% fuel at the time (I have the 'small' config - 60 US Gal / side).

Generally speaking, I would NEVER run that way unless lives depended on it (or I had to spend another half hour making my wife endure a really nasty and unpredictable 4-6' chop on the lake waiting for the next bridge). I don't tend to cruise beyond 2800-3200 RPM, which typically gives me 17-22 knots depending on wind direction and wave conditions.

F36 just under 28 knots @ 2900 no help from wind or tide .

I have reached 25 knots at WOT but that is really pushing it. And only once in three years Cruz at 16-19 knots at 3200 on 318's. I wish it was 22, but that would require a change out of engines to Crusaders I think. Running 4 blades now.

27.2 KTS at WOT or 31 MPH

BUT she will cruise comfortably with a sweet spot of 19-23 kts (21-26 MPH) all day with the Yanmars, happily sipping her diesel fuel.

The sweet spot with the 454's was 13-15 kts. (15-17 mph)

My tri-cabin ran 32K on the GPS at WOT on Lake Michigan two summers ago right after a major tuneup, carb rebuild, and new distributors. It was a calm cool morning and I let it run that way for about 5 minutes. I was in about 55 feet of water and the water temp at the surface was about 62 degrees. I had about 3/8 fuel in both tanks (92 gal total) and the holding tank was empty with no water in the water tanks. My mechanic and I were aboard making the test run after he had completed the work listed above.

This is as fast I've been so far, 3000 rpm, 21 knots. Front tanks were empty, aft were about 1/2. Crusader 270's

What size props? 3 or 4 blade?
4 blades will lift ass end.... your bow looks a little down to me in that photo but that might just be because you are at end of a turn.
Mine runs best when I see the bow wave in view adjacent to the mid ship cleats from the upper helm..... your bow looks too low for that.

Fred Millers review of the F32 states:
Equipped with the standard 225 Chryslers, the F32 had a cruising speed between 15 and 22 mph (2500-3000 rpm), with a top speed of 32.3 mph (4,ooo rpm).
A page from the Trojan sales manual of 1973 shows the 225 Chryslers using 15.6 gph at 2500 rpm, 22.5 gph at 3,000 rpm and 40.5 gph, wide open. The optional 250 Chryslers drank 51 gph at top speed.

I've seen 25 knots clean and light, and after a seasons worth of growth- I can be down to 18 knots cruise/ 22 knots max.

SWEET!

My bridge enclosure open, 4 adults, 115 gals fuel, 40 gals water I reached 31mph @ 3400 RPM's on GPS. Conditions were calm and fresh bottom paint. Very happy with those numbers...
