Oil Filter Relocation Recomendations

My new to me F32 has the "traditional" oil filter set up. The port engine is easy to get to through the center access panel, but the starboard is the hard one. I would like to relocate that filter around to the center.
Any recommendations on a a kit? I've been looking at a few hot-rod kits and one of them comes with a 96" hose set.
I have 318's.

That's a great question, I want to do the same with my 318s. I'm sure there will be some good advice for us on this forum.

Can't remember some makes but they are not all created equal. Some are cheaply made, bad casts, hoses, fittings etc. Make sure they are fully ported. Don't cheap out here.

I moved mine on the 318s and it works perfectly. I used the adapters from FRAM with no touble. I routed stainless mesh racing hose and terminated in those aluminium fittings that are used in racing cars and aircraft. I mounted the new filter mounts on a some aluminum plates fastened to the inside rear of my exhaust manifolds. Both are now easily accessable.

I found a kit from Mr Gasket for around $80.00. Anyone familiar with that brand, is it good or stay away from it?

That looks nice! I like that bracket mounting idea. I was thinking of going around the front to the bulkhead but it looks like yours is a shorter run.

I looked at the Summit brand remote and it states not for marine use, not sure why. It looks like all the rest and a good price. I think you add the U shape fittings Larry did and it would be good. My opinion, but I'm just learning this stuff.

Larry's install is very nice and probably something you can copy----one thing about oil systems is use good stuff with good flow and fittings---I have always used Milodon for that kind of thing but it is definitely a little pricey---keep those lines shorter than longer imho---Mike

A fully ported unit maintains full rated flow for the filter they are designed for. Cheap units, besides their poor construction, often have inadequate port sizes to allow the proper sized fittings to maintain the correct inside fitting diameters. Check the inside diameter of the fitting on the engine that threads into the oil filter. That inside diameter must be maintained at minimum throughtout the entire circuit. If the remote unit doesn't allow you to install fittings that will maintain this diameter then don't use it. The mount must also be robust. I've seen some of the cheapies snap from trying to remove a stuck filter.

I have to tell you the fittings were real spendy, but made a nice installation that actually works. I am not sure there is really any difference in the adapters as far as brand quality. All seem to be made out of aluminum casting or even billet. But will leave that to big D. The good stuff fittings and the stainless braid hose was not easy to work with but got-er-done. One thing that was squirrely in the instructions hose hookup that is which hose goes to which outlet or inlet. I finally solved it by simply observing where the filter was at had a center outlet (inlet) so I put that hose to the center outlet at the other end. After all you are just moving the filter away from its original spot and not reversing any circulation, works fine.
I was also going to put on bulkhead, but decided to do it the way I did for short hose runs, the stuff is pricy.
