Hi guys. I replaced my engine wiring harnesses with the eight pin rectangular plugs that are exactly like the factory ones. I originally had not planned on doing this and ran all new new wires from the panel into the engine room and had left enough wire to connect directly to the engine. now i have a brand new plug on the engine side and no way to connect it without cutting it off and using butt connectors. I know they sell 20 ft harness extensions but I only need a 8 pin male plug with 6 inches of wire to attach my new wires to. I purchased a 8 pin plug from "delcity" that looked like it might work but the ground terminal was in a different location. Does anyone know where I may be able to get a new plug?
im almost inclined to use butt connectors with heat shrink but I like the idea of a quick disconnect if I ever need to pull the engines for maintenance.

How much current runs through each pin? You could ditch the connector that you have and try something like http://www.mcmaster.com/#6084t35/=vtrw0o or two of http://www.mcmaster.com/#9171t34/=vtrwzz. I like these better than the run of the mill harness connectors because they have a latch that prevents inadvertent uncoupling.

i need to figure out the current for each but i believe the original harness was 2 x 10 ga wires and the rest were 12???

try these out. I was looking to replace the my flybridge since someone decided to cut the originals out. Hope this helps!

That is good information the Marlin Industries is right here in Dallas, will pay them a visit next time I go in to Big D. Will report on findings.

If it were me, I would probably go the heat shrink butt connectors. It will probably be many years, maybe never that you'll need to pull the engines (again).If you leave an extra few inches that would be plenty to cut/splice.
