Rope/Line fiberglassed in?

This may sound a little strange, and maybe someone knows what the deal is. Ive been working in the bilge of my boat, and noticed something very strange. In the corners of where they laid the fiberglass to form the hull, seems they put rope in the corners that goes through and comes out the other end. Ill try and take a picture later when it stops raining , but I thought that was strange. If it were only in one spot I would have dismissed it, but it appears all over the boat in various places. Just curious as to why they would do that. Is it to avoid sharp corners when laying fiberglass?

I have heard that those ropes were a way to move the parts around at the factory....our boat is full of them as well...Mike

Both of mine have them. I assume to lift out of mold etc. The one in the bow I think is what the anchor rode is attached to.
