This is a pic of genny wiring. Looks like a lot of add on stuff. The battery charger does supply power here.
I'm open to suggestion.

I'd start with replacing those battery cables... That one with the fuel hose looks suspect... It could be a repair, or a hopefully just there to prevent chafing. The green garden hose looks suspect.
There is a lot of stuff on my genny battery too that I have not been able to sort out. I think its all fishing electronics.

What size battery do you have on your genset?
Is it just there to start the genset?
The hose is lea dinging to fwt I think. I will follow that out too.

Looks like there must have been a dual battery set up at one time. You can't get two of those clamp type cable lugs on the same battery post. The only thing that should be drawing power from that battery is the generator. Everything else should be rewired to a different battery bank such as a deditcated house bank if the other wiring falls under that category.

The boat is new to me too, but I have a group 27 that is destined for that spot.

Yahoo got genset running on starter fluid via a grp 31 battery. I'm going to separate the wires above and dedicate one battery to the genset. Will keep the grp 31 for house.
Have power at all batteries via onboard charger. Also rolled each engine.
Roger grp 27 on genset.
What you got on engines?

360's here. The boat has been sitting for 18 months. I bumped them to make sure they move, but I have not started them yet. The story is my genny has not been run in 10 years. It may be a lost cause by now. The battery still goes there...
