Best type of interior paint?

Just bought a 1987 Trojan 10.8 meter. We want to spruce up the tired painted surfaces (wood, cabinets fiberglass ceiling) in the interior salon and galley with new paint. What's the consensus on the best type and brand to use? Does it have to be marine paint or can house paint do?

if you can post a few pictures of the parts your thinking about painting if will give those of us that dont have your same boat a better idea of what your talking about. i know the cabinets in my 1987 10 meter are alot different from those in the 10.8.
with painting the prep is the most important thing. I wouldnt hesitate to use a quality house paint on wood cabinets in a boat as long as they were made out of a would that will take paint (plywood veneer cabinets vs teak)
found myself cringing when I thought about painting teak! LOL!
if you have the fiberglass headliner in your boat I would think trying to compound and wax it may be better than painting.

Thanks Todd.
Yes, painting the "regular" wood cabinets, not the teak. Basically repainting what is already painted and keeping the teak natural.

The cabinets in my 10 meter are all Formica. If yours are wood and you can prep them properly I would think any good quality paint would be fine.
I have found when asking questions on the forum (and have asked quite a lot over the years) that pictures help a lot.
The 10.8 meter is a popular model (one of my personal favorites!)
I suggest posting a few picks of what you have . then describe what you looking for and I bet the guys on the forum will be able to show you similar things they have done or at least give you some ideas.
