I just bought the boat and I think I want to change the lock on the door. Has anyone done this yet. Can I just change the lock cylinder or do I replace the entire lock?

If it's a sliding door like on my '90 10M, it's nothing more than a patio sliding door lock. I went to lowes and bought a complete kit.

My 10 Meter does not have a sliding door latch from Home Depot. Mine is broken and I would like to replace it, but I have no idea how to get it off or change the cylinder, neither does Bob at Beacon Marine. If you figure it out let me know. Good Luck.

I'd wager that John Leed could help, or even have the part(s) needed

Okay,
I talked to Beacon Bob and they got the drawings out and they have no idea how to get the latch off either.
Will keep trying.

Usually you take the latch cover off and there are some set screws inside.

Here are some pictures of the latch on my 10 meter. I have removed the 4 screws from both sides of the latch but nothing comes apart, the plastic pieces just wiggle around.

I took your advice, took the lock off and gave it to a locksmith for a day. He rekeyed it for $20. He said it's a very simple lock cylinder.

I have the same lock on my '86 Mediterranean sportfisher and the lock no longer works (it's just stuck fast)...I can't get the lock out either. How did you manage to get it all apart? Thank you in advance!

There were two screws on the inside of the door that I took off and that was it.
