Has anyone re-plumed the hose coming from the deck waste fitting to the holding tank. I can see up under but cannot see a hose clamp. I am thinking on pulling the waste fitting up from the deck side, hopefully very carefully as it may have 5200. Can anyone tell me what I expect to find under the fitting?

Are you talking about the drain in the well in front of the captain's seat? That's the only drain I have on my 73 Tri cabin. Mine goes to a thru hull above the water line beside the kitchen sink thru hull.

As a matter of fact, I can -- enough room for a bunk bed. Well, almost. Your fitting is midships on the port side? All the room that you have under the starboard side windows -- I have a TV and stereo -- is wasted on the port side. I just re-did all of my blackwater plumbing except for the tank using mostly clear PVC pipe. I used the gray super-duper premium lifetime guarantee sanitation hose between the tank and the deck fitting, since it always contains, umm, liquid. If you pull off the lower panel that is under the windows forward of the galley, you will have all the access that you need, all the time wondering WTF Trojan was thinking when they left all this dead space.

Won't work -- the hose is sealed to the salon deck where it penetrates the engine room.

I've never seen one without a hose clamp Larry but you never know. On the chance that 5200 may have been used, you may want to heat up the fitting first with a heat gun before prying on it in hopes of softening the adhesive caulk. 5200 will rip fiberglass off. Having said that, I'd be surprised if they used 5200 for that back then. Still, I'd heat it anyway.

My tri must be different than yours, the galley is at the stern of the salon. There is a door and space at the base of the stairs to front toilet and v birth. All the goodies are in there, water heater, black water tank and transfer pumps. In that area I can see the hose all the way up to where it enters a hole in the bottom of the deck. It is as if their is a void beneath the cleanout and somehow a clamp is in there. But it cannot be seen. That is why I think it has to come out the top. The hole it enters is barely bigger than the hose.

The clean out is definitely forward of salon forward bulkhead and on port side. there is no panel you can see under there, You can see the hose until it disappears up through a hole in the deck area. Maybe someone was fool enough not to put a clamp on it or left it off when working on it. We shall see.

I'm thinking maybe they used a strapping device to put a clamp on that would fit down the hole from the deck?

Well I finally got into replacing the clean out hose. I was wrong you are correct there is a panel forward of galley on port side, it was not problem after that. Thanks.
