$400 to rebuild!?!?
Wow....
I just bought two brand new edelbrocks last season for $375 a piece. Same as stock carbs.
They run flawlessly.
Rebuilding is simple. Not many parts come in the kits. I did that first. Bought them on Amazon. After 35+ years they were beyond repair though. Everything was sloppy causing air to enter and making them impossible to tune properly.

You need to get the number stamped in the carb to be sure right kit. But in all likelihood that one will work fine. Make sure you get it clean. I soda blast mine after soaking in carb cleaner. Then wash with water and blow out with compressed air. I keep two spares that are rebuilt and ready to go.

Thanks for the help everyone. Just curious if I was to upgrade to an edelbrock manual choke, are they pretty much bolt on and go, or do you need to figure out jetting etc...

No jetting required. BUT........
I needed to drill and tap an air fitting for the Crankcase vent system. Easy
Adjust the floats. Easy
Adjust air/fuel mixture screws. Easy
Adjust idle. Easy
Adjust the accelerator pump. Easy
Cut down my original spark arrestors to fit the bigger throat with a dremel cutoff wheel. More difficult but doable.
Finally, because I went With an electronic choke version. Find a + and - source to hook up to it. Fused. Easy

This is what I got. But not from summit.

Do a search for price....

Glad I did it.

I just paid $350. Seriously, farm it out if you or someone you know haven't done it. Its not that fun and you don't want to second guess the work.
