Hi All,

Potential new owner looking for Buyers advice.

Have settled on wanting an F32, but still flirt with the idea of an F36.

Are there any appreciable differences over the production run from early 70s boats into the 80s?

Is there a preferred engine combo?

Any typical weak points to look for?

There are many that will chime in.
The hulls are the same with a few changes such as steering from chain drive to hydraulic, helm designs both upper and lower, engine room vent configurations, there is a difference in the 32 sedan vs the express cruiser with or without flybridge...the cockpit sole being one of them. Teak flooring and toe rail options. The salon doors up to late 70's were slightly different with their hardware. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot. Just do a search for different year Trojan F32s and you'll get an idea.

I'm partial to the Chevy small block for the F32 although Chrysler engines are very good. The F 32 never came with big blocks from the factory.

Too late tonight for a very good reply, but in general like Stripermann2 said just a few minor (bridge layout, vent configs, etc) adjustments and teak cockpit vs glass. Otherwise the F32 offered the same interior layouts from early 70's to the end of production in the 90's.

F36 is very similar externally and mechanically, but has fundamentally different interior layout than F32. F32 always had galley down, F36 has galley is up... and often no dinette (wasn't even offered until '82).

Structurally they will be the same year for year. Similar concepts used in hull design. Longer hull is always better for bigger water.

What kind of boating do you want to do?

It would be somewhat of a weekender with ambition to travel the Trent system and Manitoulin Island.

But mostly a comfortable getaway on the east coast of Lake Simcoe.

I have also looked at 36ft tri cabin, practical but not sexy.

Will be viewing a 85 and 74 F32 shortly.

Good info , however the dinette was available in the 70s My 77 has it .
