Is anyone running 4 blades on an F32? I am rebuilding my Crusader 270's over the winter and refreshing my transmissions also. I have 1.52:1 72c turning 1.25 shaft. I am thinking about a pair of Acme 15 X 15.75 4 blades with .150 cup. ( 2272 and 2273 RH/LH) I am currently running dynajet 3's in 16 x 16, which were getting me 3800 rpms before the rebuild. ( Blew a port head gasket and decided to do both sides, honing, not boring)

Not sure if i need to drop an inch of pitch or not. Looking for any practical experience with going from 3 to 4's

I have heard that the 4's are very smooth when compared to 3's

About a 1" pitch drop is about right going from 3 to 4 blade . Yes they will be a little smother . With that said I prefer a 3 blade they seem to give a little better performance on my F36 (Diesel) . On the F32(and other boats) I have preference both ways .

A four blade prop will definitely give you more blade area to handle the horsepower however maybe too much. The DJX propeller provides more blade area than the Dynajet while remaining a three blade configuration. I'd suggest doing a little research on this such as talking to the people at Michigan Wheel, they are very helpful.
