Re: Sanitary hose replacement fun

I used Shields Marine Poly X Sanitation Hose in 2016 on my 12M Express. Absolutely no odor permeation at all. A bit tough to get on barbed fittings, but worth the fight. Only want to do this once. Shields Poly X is considered the ultimate sanitation hose. Easy to slip over most fittings, Poly X comb...

Re: 12 Meter Pulpit

I really wanted to go with a vertical windlass but the more I research it just doesn't look possible. The 12M express pulpit is not flat unlike the convertibles. In order for a vertical windlass to work the unit must be level with the roller. From the pic of another 12M the windlass is mounted on a ...

Re: 12 Meter Pulpit

Got the recored pulpit back from Raybo marine in Lindenhurst. Great looking job. It sits until April when I take the shrinkwrap off. Looking forward to boat show in nyc at Javits to pick a windlass. no sign of the foot switches or the old SeaWolf beast. If anyone needs a Seawolf let me know.

I love that site.

My dimensions on my bucket are 10w x 11.75d x 5.75h which matches this item from what I can tell on the 1 inch grid marks.

Re: 12 Meter Pulpit

Some other pics. Dropped it off today to get recored. Noticed there is unprotected wood where 5 of the carriage bolts go. Lots of wood rot and dirt between the pulpit and decking. Deck is about 1-1/4 thick, pulpit is another 3-3/8 thick plus there is a small gap between the two, almost at 5 inches t...

Re: 12 Meter Pulpit

Finally got it off the boat, two person job for sure. In the "inlay" section there looks to be this gray vinyl material that is glued down. The closest thing that I could find is a product called "Lonseal". It's gray with a bunch of round dots on it. It appears to be used for interior vinyl flooring...

Re: 12 Meter Pulpit

I'm guessing the 1" starboard is there to cover up the blemishes of the old setup. I'm trying to understand why the Sea Wolf 520 was installed on the 4" block to begin with. Was is for decoration or for purpose? It seems like if your setup works fine with just a 1 inch lift a zero inch lift after I ...

Re: 12 Meter Pulpit

El L Sea, did you have the "block" that raised the windlass up about 4 inches before you switched? Or did the previous owner do that too? I think the thickness of the pulpit plus the decking would rule out a vertical windlass. I have to do more research on that. The current design is is to use a clu...

Re: 12 Meter Pulpit

Now I have to decide to restore the Sea Wolf 520 windlass or get something new. The block that lifts it needs glass work, the unit itself needs work. The new stainless stuff is more low profile. Anyone change theirs out?

Re: 12 Meter Pulpit

Thanks Prowlerfish for the idea. Took a while, but adding wooden wedges and making it spread apart every few days worked.
It finally popped out today, maybe because it got up to a nice 61-degrees out. Below freezing tomorrow night.

Re: 12 Meter Exhaust Pipe Cracked

That's nuts! Especially with a waste line. Loosened the clamps on the 8-inch and of course neither side will budge. Tried putting a putty knife in from one end to loosen up the seal. No luck. Will try some heat next. If that fails we have two options 1) cut the hose in half and we should be able to ...

Re: 12 Meter Pulpit

Ok so I removed the 10 carriage bolts, the windlass, the foot switch, two stanchions and the remote spot light. i can only get it to move slightly. I cleared out all the caulk as much as I could and a putty knife goes through the stuff that is deeper. Would there be lots of caulk between the pulpit ...
