Wire Size

The best rule of thumb for electrical wire size is #14 15 amps #12 20 amps #10 30 amps and #8 40 amps. When I wired my house this was the code. It would take a really big boat to exceed the recommended length of run for these wire sizes.

Wiring

I believe you are right about the diagram but im not sure the distributor index has anything to do with weak spark. It would still spark strong if it were only out one tooth. He said he was fighting a weak spark and low voltage so I was looking at reasons for that.

Wiring

Just a little more info I dug up. The ground for the distributor is through it's mechanical connection to the engine block. The module gets it's ground through its mounting screws and being in contact with the metal inside the distributor body. When you installed the new module, did you check the ga...

Repair

I repaired one in the past but the ends did not screw off. There was a small hole near the end. I took a hack saw and opened the hole a little and pulled a small square wire out. The end cap came right off. There was a groove cut in the inside of the bore and the end cap. After rplacing the o-rings ...

Charging

My chrysler engines have a oil pressure switch wired through the altenator circuit that wont allow the altenators to charge unless the oil pressure reaches a certain pressure. I am not sure the exact pressure the switch is set for but sometimes at low idle and hot engines they wont charge unless I i...

Guages

I believe the sending units for the AC guages are specific to the AC guages. The AC guages operate backwards from most guages. When you short a guage from most manufactures they read the highest temp or pressure they are rated for. The AC guages read o when shorted. I believe Beacon sells the correc...
