KUDOS TO THE CREW OF US AIRWAYS 1549

though it is not related to trojan boats, i thought you all would like to know just who the crew of us airways 1549 was on that fateful day of 15 january 2009. as a flight attendant for us airways, i am so very proud of my fellow flying partners, as their skill saved the day.

and, of course, the cabin safety professionals that evacuated over 150 passengers in just over 30 seconds....

i have flown many a trip with ''sully'' and i can tell you, he runs his aircraft by the book and demands nothing less of his entire crew.

You definitely have a right to be proud of all of them, they all did an outstanding job under some pretty extreme circumstances. My hats off to them!

You don't really know me yet, I have only been on the forum since december and only made a couple of posts.

I fly a fair amount for work, and almost all on USAir. I usually end up just short of 120 segments each year over the last 10 years. My neighbor is a pilot for USAir. We see each other in CLT from time to time.

Anyway, I am glad to know what the USAir crews are capable of in case I am ever on a flight like that. It definately makes me feel safer seeing how this one was handled. Myself and all my coworker/travellers are very impressed.

Just to throw in a little about trojan boats...I bought an F26 in december and am restoring it. It is my second F26. I sold my first one then bought a Sea Ray, regretted it for 4 years, and have now sold the Sea Ray and bought another F26.

hi steve, welcome back to the world of trojan ownership. look me up sometime when i transit through CLT if you are there. i am based in washington (DCA) but since CLT is a major hub i go through there all the time. my co workers have dubbed me the ''hebrew national" or the ''wandering jew of usair'' as i wear a yarmulkah with my uniform (and when i am off duty). i look forward to having you onboard one day talking about boating. it's always a plus when i meetup with a fellow boatowner when i am working a trip.

My first F26 Sank, but I salvaged it, rebuild the motor, and got it back to better than beore. The searay was definately newer and ran a little faster, but that was about it.

I always wished I had kept the trojan, and was pleased to find one for practically nothing just before Christmas.

Aaron, I think I hve seen you before in an airport or on a flight. I am back on the road with two stop in 4 stops in CLT next week.

The more I see the video of the landing on the Hudson and the more I read about the capt and crew I'm just so overwhelmed by the sheer skill and professionalism of all involved (including the fast response of the ferry boats and other craft that got to the site). Had it not been for the Capt, Co-Pilot and excellent crew, combined with the on-water rescuers, this could have been a real tragedy.

Steve - welcome! Another F26 owner with a lot of experience. I've been rebuilding/restoring and refurbishing our '77 F26 since we got her back in 1999. Great boat.

I'm really impressed with the skill and professionalism of the captain and crew...my father was an airline pilot with Air Canada and I only wish he were alive to have witnessed this display of courage and professionalism...and to have walked the isles twice to ensure everyone was off... amazing...The right stuff....Aron you should be very proud of your colleagues....

hi peter and the rest of the trojan gang. i am still stunned at the whole thing and even the NTSB is saying that this totally rewrites the book on a possible water ditching. i am a huge NPR fan, and garrison keillor did a musical tribute to the gallant crew of flight 1549 on his latest broadcast of prairie home companion this past saturday evening. if you all want to listen to the tribute, go to the ''archive'' area of prairiehome.org and listen to it. it falls withing the first 10 to 20 minutes of the show, right after he does the musical number of my old kentucky home.
if you are a softie, like me with this, it will bring tears to your eyes.
thanks again for the support gang, i really do appreciate it. and steve (from a few responses above), the next time you see me at CLT, if i am not racing to another plane, shout out my name and say hello. hopefully i will have the honor of meeting you onboard one day.
