MOLD!

i have found that bleach is the first thing that comes to mind but from my experiene it doesnt work as well as some of the products designed for it....i dont remember the name of what i last used sorry but im sure some here has a suggestion..if not ill try to remember....mold sucks....luckily i keep my boats at my house and i run a house fan to keep air moving..i also use that damp remover stuff and cut slits in the shrink wrap for air

after u getting it cleaned up the beach might help then diluted with water of course....but it does smell...i dont know much about mold but i pray that u can clean it up

thanks....i have been having concrens with the trojan though...i do like to beach my boat...i dont think beaching an inboard is a good idea...this years boating is going to be a big bang for me...i have alot of things going on in my life and i might take this year off from the big boating....i find when i have a boat in the water i dont get much done around the house and i have some big projects id like to do this summer but i dont know my houseboat only needs bottom paint to go in so i might have 'the calling' so much that i give in

I own an environmental remediation company that deals with mold remediation. Hopefully the mold is only on the surface and not present behind the head liner. Unfortunately if that is the case, removal of the entire headliner will be required. If it is only on the exterior surface you can to the following:

Using bleach is not a standard practice.....but it is used. If try it, please make sure you dulute it to about 10%. Diluting the bleach will remove most of the really strong smell, but believe me the bleach smell will disipate in a very short time.
Another household product to use is dish washing liquid. We use liquid dawn with bleach and you can buy it with an anti-microbial or anti bacterial already in it. Just mix with water. either product mix and use a spray bottle to apply, let set for awhile and use a damp rag to wipe off. May have to apply several applications.
since you have allergens, being exposed to the molds, especially in close quarters will cause issues. I would recommend going to home depot or lowes and buying a respirator that has HEPA filter cartridges. Due not use a dust mask!!

If it's just mildew, I've had really good results with vinegar (kills the mildew) and then cleaning away the black with Oxyclean -- dissolved in some warm water and blotted on with a dish towel, my carpet-lined wall never looked better (had some mildew from a leaky windshield that's since been repaired).

Rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide may also be used to kill mold.

Sounds like they didn't put enough vents in your shrink wrap. Should have been at least 2.

I wrapped my 25ft boat one time several years ago for 4 months and when I opened it up the inside was covered with mold. I also got ill from it but my wife (bless her little pea pickin heart) scrubbed it with Dawn dish soap and water with a little bleach thrown in and saved the day, boat I mean. I have never wrapped any boat again. I just tie a tarp on loosely to keep the water out and still get air inside with a fan circulating it and I have not had a problem again.

On a recent trip to a Home Depot rental center (located in most stores) I noticed that they rent a fogging machine for the treatement of mold. I did not spend much time looking at it, but it appeared to be a machine that you set up, turn on and block off the room (alot like setting off "flea bombs).
Regardless of what method of removal you use-I would suggest using one of the mold blocking chemicals (that is appliced to surfaces) to prevent the return of the mold.

i use sporicidin spray around anything that will take it. i have also used, with great success, a product i picked up at home depot.... it's called mold blaster and mold block. the website is http://www.shieldindustries.com i've used the mold block in the bilge and it actually prevents schmutz from growing in the bilge and if you have that dreaded 'hollow trojan keel' it keeps stuff from growing in standing water.
whatever you do though, wear a face mask and eye wear so not to get the crud in your nasal passages and lungs and in your eyes.
