A.) things you would do to your boat
B.) things you would do WITH your boat
What's on your list????????
Mine :
a..... Radar arch, KVH trac vision SAT TV, garmin 24 HD radar, seperate electric central heat system, 502s (so i can keep up with Tony),
b..... cruise the Bahamas for 4 months with my older "Snow bird" friends (they are down there right now and sending me pics every week ), cruise up to the finger lakes
I'm sure I'll be editing this post when I think of more

A) do TO my boat:
1) new Awlgrip paint on top sides
2) secret US Navy"slick as sh*t" bottom paint that never needs to be repainted
3) 32" TV screen above
4) bigger Turbos (like to get 300HP sometimes) w/ more cooling
5) stainless exhaust elbows all the way through
6) diesel generator fixed
7) did I mention new paint?
8 ) ALL new wiring
9) Corian counters
10) Head? No - too much trouble docked at your house - still use porta-pot
11) paint?
12) LED lights underwater, around the cockpit, all around the salOOn header
13) new 1" (6" lower) 316 Stainless, welded bow rails
14) Radar arch (50% complete)
15) the list is huge ...

2) the Bahamas & St. Marten
3) a Trojan Rendezvous
4) Key West
5) Cuba
6) Fiji
7) trade it for a Bristol 42 or 12m Trojan sportfish with a pair of 450HP-600hp diesels

I'm very fortunate in this department I bought the boat with what I thought was everything I would ever want already on board, however things change. I very quickly came to realize that the GPS was old technology and I installed a Garmin 4208 over the winter shortly after I purchased the boat. At the end of my first full season with the boat I rafted up with two other 440 Trojans both with optional extended swim platforms, both my wife and I know this was something we would have to add. The following spring it was installed. The only thing on my boat that showed its age was the helm and I bothered me a little bit so I also redid the entire helm over the winter as well. Early this this past season while on a trip to the LI sound my radar died an expense I was not prepared for but I decided to add another 4208 and a 18" HD dome I network the displays and I'm thrilled with the end results. So I can honestly say my bucket list of thing to add is short. I would like to install a satellite dome and a couple of cameras that can be displayed on my GPS units. The Dish I plan to order at the up coming boat show in a few weeks and the cameras I sell and install for a living so it's just a mater of deciding which ones I want to use I probably have something I can use in my garage not a high priority but it will get done. I would like to be able to see the engine room while underway if I here a strange sound it's comforting to not see smoke in there the second camera would be mount to the radar/satellite mount looking back this would serve two functions It would let me see the back edge of the swim platform as I'm docking and also see behind me while driving I do not plan on putting in a Flir with night vision so we're not talking about a big expense.
So if all goes well my bucket list will be complete by spring.
As for where I would like to travel this will never be fulfilled. I have taken some nice trips on board but the more I travel the more I want to travel. Someday I would like to do the great loop but if this is to ever happen I would not do it in my current boat I would be looking for a trawler with a much less draft and more efficient MPG not GPH I would never be able to afford the trip in my current boat.
Short term plans for travel this coming year I'm planning a trip to Lake Champlain and if I can get the time off I would like to go to Martha's Vineyard with stops in Block Island, mystic and a few others.
The funny thing about a bucket list is the more you do the bigger the list gets. Life is not worth living with nothing to live for.
So if all goes well my bucket list will be complete by spring.

Can you convert the crank without replacing the entire davit? The electric davit is a great feature and time saver but not the end all it the above mentioned price.prowlersfish wrote:6 years and mine is pretty close to where I want it

I could and have given it some thought but it not really set up for it . I also move it front to back to lift the motor off . it works pretty well just electric would be nice. It use a block and tackle not a crank type winch

I'm surprised it doesn't have a crank to prevent accidental release and falls. I will admit I'm a bit spoiled in this department.
My davit is electric and has a wired remote with a long cord. My whole dink fits into the garage however I do need to mostly deflate it once on board. Then it hides away when not in use in the garage as well. In this picture I used it to help install the new platform I mentioned earlier it would have been a major PIA without it. Actually it was a PIA with it.
But this just made me think of something I would ad to my bucket list. I would like a decent compressor to inflate the dink rather then a foot pump. I can use it to blow out the lines in the fall that might just justify it:)
Regardless of how the davit works it a great tool to save you back while trying to get a dink on and off the boat.

I want that !! Yes I am Jealous . mine won't free fall it has chocks you pull the line thru ( same as sail boats use on there lines ) . I have thought of making my own and may do so .I just want it to work well and look good .
I use a small vacum cleaner to inflalte mine ( small orek ) must have a outlet for the hose .

Things to do to the boat:
1) new professional paint job on hull and super structure. At about 30K it's out of the question.
2) Hard top with solid windows front and side built into the radar arch.
3) New canvas if I can't come up with a hard top.
Places to go:
1) I'd love to travel the great loop but with fuel prices now days that's more expensive than the paint job. I'll have to settle for the trip to the Solomons in MD and then to DC.
2) FL. Maybe some day but I'd probably have to find a way to carry more fuel somewhere.
