Windshield glass replacement 1976 F-32.

Post by 2barkingdogs »

I would like some advice on how to remove and replace the windshield glass on my 1976 F-32. The 2 of the three large pieces (not the vent window) have cracks. Do they come out from the top? I would like to replace the old glass with tinted. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Never had to do the windshield glass. I believe it comes out from the outside and is caulked/sealed in. Better to have a glass man look and give you a price.

I am trying to remember, I replaced the rubber seal that sits over the top of the windshields. (I used rubber roofing material) It will never go bad or leak now. I do believe each of the windshields are on like a piano hinge, if so I would tale the whole thing to a window glass place and have (Safety Glass Installed) One of mine has Plexi glass installed that I need to replace because it is all yellow. The old owner installed the safety glass for the bridge.

there are screws on the inside of the frame, remove these, cut under the outside frame as best possible and the take the old ones to an autoglass shop as templates. cost me about $150 each including the new bedding tape. make sure you seal EVERY screw when you put it back in
