success! engines are running!!!!!
As the project continues, it has come time to start the old pigs up. The 360s havent run in somewere between 3 and 5 years. I pulled the plugs, sprayed some croil into the cylinders and let it sit overnight.
I charged up some batteries and rolled the motors over with no plugs using the starters.
I put the plugs back in and gave her a shot.
Results- They both run, and they seem to run good!!!!!!!
I even got the 6.5 Onan geny to start!
Still have a ton of work to do., Ill post some pics later

1 riser on each engine is rotted out on the bottom. I will be ordering 4 new ones soon, along with full gasket sets.
I will be pulling the engines for full re-gasketing, cleaning and a new coat of paint over the winter.
I am relived that they run as smooth as they did.
While the engines are out, I will clean and paint the bilge.

both engines have oil leaks. Starboard motor has a substantial leak. I would perfer to remove the engines, and replace the oil pan gaskets and the main seals. While they are up, I would like to re-gasket the transmissions.
new shaft seals, cutlass bearings, re-bed the struts, and rudder seals are all planned for the winter.
Its alot of work, but its peace of mind knowing that I will not need to worry about any of these in the coming seasons.
She hasnt been in the water in close to five years, I dont want to want to take the gamble and put the boat in the water and fight with leaky hull penetrations. There is evidence that there was salt water sprayed about the engine are.
In my opinion its money well spent and time will used for this task.

my silverton has a single 318, sat for 10 years untouched, had water in 2 cylinders and obviously wouldnt crank over when I tried, I originally thought the starter was bad. The risor had cracked, I pulled the plugs sprayed marvel mystery oil in all cylinders, cranked it with no plugs, then put the plugs back in and wholah, runs like a champs, 250hrs on her in the past 2 years
