Too close to home, Boat fire at CBYC
Last night, at the club where I am, along with RooferDave, had one of our members lose their boat to fire.
The owners were liveaboards, and this was to be their second winter on the water.
Less than a week before Christmas, this is just cruel. Fortunately, there were no injuries, some heat damage was done to a second liveaboard docked next to this boat.
Took these pics today:

Too early to say, and we do not wish to speculate at this time. I will let you all know as soon as we have more details. The owner is also the Vice Commodore of the club. He had spent thousands of dollars this summer upgrading, new wall coverings, ceiling, new Bimini windows, etc... every day he was doing something to make her better.gettaway wrote:thats awful... portable heater?
Chris Craft, and the length, was I believe a 42 footer? Dave may be able to elaborate if he comes on here.
Ironically, the boat was named "Final Purchase"

May be a Chris Craft Commander 360.
They are nice boats, I have one behind mine. Sad to hear, hope the couple make out okay.

Everyone is safe, no injuries, but a real loss for them. Bob the owner just turned 65 this past year, and this was their dream boat.TBone wrote:well that just sucks!
I am assuming that everyone is safe?

Hijack the thread
This was not set by the owner, that much I am sure of, the love, pride and work that went into this boat precludes that
That much I am 100% positive of

indeed it is the uniflite 36 double cabin/chris craft 362 catalina.... the design was kept, maybe a few tweeks after chris craft bought out uniflite.captainmaniac wrote:That really sucks. The boat would have been a Chris Craft Catalina, perhaps mid '80s. I think they shared a hull with Uniflyte.
in uniflite form....

sad to see a boat destroyed that way. then again, any way. the 38 chris craft corinthian is fixable i take it? that was the boat next to the burned out one.
