It does not show up well in the photos, but note we replaced the factory macerator with a second vacuum pump.
three macerators failed in 3 years. That vacuum pump has worked perfectly since we installed it.
Also, off to the right you might see a piese of the Cruisair HVAC and the circulation pump.
We built a shelf out of starboard and relocated both units in a better location than where the factory put them. Thios was an inexpensive upgrade that makes for far easier access to everything in the engine room.
Other than having to reseal it due my own overuse of formaldahyde treatment chemicals, the centerline waste tank has been totally trouble free.
We did add a new charcoal filter to the vent line, but in retrospect, it probably was not necessary.
The freashwater tank (also 40 gallons) is located forward of the engine room bulkhead and forward of the cabin bilge pump. It is also built intregal into the hull and has also been trouble free.

You guys have helped me out GREATLY!!! My engines are closer to the engine room bulkhead than the photos....my battery box seems to be in the same place though. I also seem to have room between the fuel tanks in front of the generator. now that i know it is ok to put it in the engine compartment i think it will be fine. how big of a tank should i concider??

Those photos were taken during the refit. There are no engines installled at that moment.
Don't install a waste tank if you already have one.
If you have the vacuum liner hull style, there's one there allready.
Do your stringers look like the ones in that photo?

My boat did not come with a pump out fitting on deck either but it did have the tank. Make sure you take a good look to see as you may already have one.
If je has the liner style hull I'd bet the tank is there.
Look fot two fittings up close to the fwd bulkhead
