My good friend has a 81-82 F36 Sedan, 460 Fords.
What is the correct size prop for this boat? He now has 21x22 on since he's had the boat. Something says it's not the right size...
Thanks for your input, I'll pass along the info to him.

Sounds reasonable for 460 big blocks ... depend son transmissions gear ratios ... why do you ask?

Thanks Ross,
The reason for the question was that although his boat runs very well, bottom is clean and no other performance issues, he cannot attain a rpm over 3400. After speaking with another friend of ours who has an F36 with 440's in it and runs 20x19 props, the question arose that maybe he was over-propped.

What transmission gear ratio? Without that, we're comparing apples and oranges here.

No matter what the gear is this boat is over proped by the rpm readings . the 460 was the replacement for the 440 . I would check the tachs make sure they are right first ,

My F36 has 20x21 props with 1 3/8 shafts. Chrysler 440 engines with 1.91:1 Velvet drive trans & reduction gear. This was the stock setup in '79
