Re: dripless shaft seals
I have dripless shaft seal on my f-28 and they work perfectly. FYI you do have to run a water source to them from engine water as once to a certain (don,t remember) water from outside the boat will not be lubricating the seal. They work much like any seal for a turning shaft on pumps do. On the F28 ...

Re: 1976 Chrysler 318 CW and CCW distributors
I just put two new Pertronics distributors, easy peasy to install and work perfectly, oh yes they are the same distributors, turn same way, just firing order is different. Put em in, moved wires, started right up then set base timing. Perrrrfect.

Re: Bow rail up grade
I bought the last bow pulpit rail kit Beacon had and have had it or several years. All parts struts and connection to existing rail are present. I wound up not using. I checked and it fits all the F boats including F-28 through F-36. I do not need.

Re: Distributors Chry 318 and Crusader 270
I purchased my Billet Pertronix distributors through Summit racing and double checked with pertronix.com support to be sure correct. They were for my Crusaders 270 (same one for the big block) They offer them for 318 Chryslers also. There is a difference chev vs chry and that is that the cam gear is...

Distributors Chry 318 and Crusader 270
This may get a bit windy. My 84 Tri-Cabin has 270 Crusaders and for 2 years or more have had difficulty getting them to run correctly. I had both carbies rebuilt by expert Cliff Ruggles and idle was perfect but port engine would backfire over 2200 RPM. Double checking timing and wiring all was perfe...

Re: Tips for reinstalling removable cabin roof on a 36' Tricabin
My son and I did ours to get the frig in. I am sorry I do not remember what sealer I used was from West Marine I think butyl sulfide. Put the bead down then set the roof put in the screws. After putting headliner in place we masked the groove in top off and filled with the same sealer and smooth. Ne...

Crusader 270 fuel line leaking
Anyone had the inverted flare fitting on the steel fuel line from fuel pump to carby leak. It is double flared. I am thinking the fix will be with 3/8 copper using the steel ending fittings and of course use double flares. thoughts, I like the steel line but has some rust and think copper will seal ...

Re: Siezed Engine Drain Plugs - Alt Method to Drain Coolant
careful I had some stuck ones in Chryslers and some twisted off and had to used chisel to get the leaves out. I bought a set o 8 point sockets to use on square plugs and use 1/2 extension to turn internal plugs. Lot o extra work but got them out. Replaced with brass ones.

Re: Starter Humming
Look through inspection window or with starter out. Ring gear should solid against the shoulder of the flywheel if any gap it will need to be repaired. Ring gears are available, flywheel not available new.
