Some good news today...I think....pressure testing points to port manifold on the port engine. It appears after all of the bolts are removed the manifold is "stuck" to the head. Hopefully I'll be able to gently pry it off tomorrow and change the oil a few times to clean things up. Thanks f...

8 Months and about 10 minutes of runtime between a blown manifold gasket, overheating and now this. I not too upset, I mean it's a boat but things like no thermostat and 5200 on the heat exchanger have led me to what kind of mechanic he is.

Meeting the old owner and boat mechanic at the boat Friday, he claims possible blown head gasket. He's bringing test equipment, my first response is to see how he swims holding the anchor but I am going to give him a chance. My big problem is the wife and I are in love with this style of boat, no on...

I had just recently had the heat exchanger repaired so I was just running water...good idea to put soem antifreeze in to get a true picture where it's coming from. I was more concerned when I saw it leaking as I filled the exchanger

Water in engine head

So today I was checking things out and I noticed my heat exchanger was a low on water, as I was adding water I noticed there was a drip coming from the interior side of the port engine between the head and the exhaust manifold. After taking off the manifold I noticed that there was a puddle sitting ...

Had the same problem a few months back, repacked the stuffing boxes with GFO and re tightened after a few trips and it seems better. I was forced to look since I was monitoring the engines the entire time and managed to see it happening.

heat exchanger cap

I am in the process of getting a local radiator shop to repair my heat exchanger and I want to make sure I use the proper cap. Does anyone have specs on what to use for a Chrysler 440?

Thanks,
Brian

Temp sending unit

I was replacing my exhaust manifold and I accidentially broke the electrical tab off of the sending unit on the bottom of the manifold. it's just the electrical fittin not the unit itself. is this something I can repair myself or do I need a replacement? Thanks!

I am getting coolant out of the holes...how bad it that??? These are the 6 studs on each side that screw into the head and go through the manifold and are kept on with a bolt.

manifold stud fun

Found out that the second stud on the port engine starboard engine was broken off...actually missing when I went to change the manifold gasket. Followed the normal procedure of drilling it out going up in size after each hole until I was ready for the "easy out" to be tapped in and pull th...
