Re: 11Meter water heater LED
captainmaniac: Agree 100%. Kind of why I initiated the post to see if it was from Trojan. The legend plate made it look somewhat professional. Easy enough to check the voltage, and I can look for the torroid. If it is wired to 110, it is on the coil side of the thermostat, as it is only on when actu...

Re: 11Meter water heater LED
Thanks. From your and El L Sea's posts, it appears this was an adder Two reasons I can think of for going with the inductive coil are, lower voltage on the wiring going to the lamp [which is easy for forget about and damage when moving the step unit... he said knowingly] -and- since this requires cu...

11Meter water heater LED
On the step unit from the pilot deck to the salon there is an LED labelled "Water Heater". I assume that it runs off a "passive" connection [torroid or "donut" coil] that generates enough juice to light the LED when the water heater is drawing AC current. Does anyone kn...

Re: Another 11Meter conundrum...
Thanks. In the '88 11 Meter the shower sump appears to be the space just below the lattice in the bottom of the shower and holds perhaps 3 - 5 gallons. The pump sounds like it is right below. On this boat [as in life?] the more I learn, the less I know...

Re: Another 11Meter conundrum...
Thanks Roger. The "mystery space" between the water heater and the fresh water tank. You mention a sensor for the 100 gallon fresh water tank... where does it display or what does it do?

Another 11Meter conundrum...
I was winterizing the domestic water systems on the 1988 11 Meter this past weekend when I noticed what appears to be a level sensor just forward of the water heater. A bit in front of that was a 1" access hole, below which I could see water. It appeared as if this was in the top rear of the do...

Re: 11 Meter motorized windshield
OK - here's the scoop after I had time to dig into it...
The only problem is the rubber coupling which has dried out and cracked. Picture is attached. Anyone have a clue where to get one of these?

Re: 11 Meter motorized windshield
Thanks, Tim. This happened just as I was "buttoning up" to leave the marina, and I didn't get a chance to really inspect the damage. From the sound, I'd say the motor is OK, but the plastic yoke that engages the worm is probably stripped out. I'll have a look next weekend. It would be grea...

11 Meter motorized windshield
It's always something... After working flawlessly since we got the boat, the small worm gear driven motorized windshield section on our 11 Meter seems to have bit the dust. The motor whirrs away, but the window would not open or close. In trying to "help" it from the outside, the entire to...

Re: 11Meter fuel tank sensor
Thanks, Todd. Figured it would be a top fitting... any idea if it is fore or aft on the tank, toward starboard or port? There is a removable port cover on the aft deck over the tank, but all you can get to from it are the fuel line connections.

11Meter fuel tank sensor
We have a 1988 11Meter Express that has a single 350 gallon fuel tank for both 454s and the genset. Recently, the fuel gauge on the helm seems to be going nutty, showing about 1/3 of a tank when it is full. Can anyone tell me where the sensor is located in the tank? I have not been able to locate wh...

Thanks, Jimmy.
Everything was working except for the front on automatic.
Your reply also reminded me that I had not yet made the 2015 support contribution...

Re: 11Meter bilges
Thanks, Todd. That was what I was assuming, but the manual doesn't have a true mechanical drawing of the hull, and, when I was flushing the bilge, I put enough water in that I thought the mid pump should have activated, but it never did.

11Meter bilges
Hello: We are the 4th owner of a 1988 11Meter Express which we purchased last year. We love the boat having upgraded from an F-25. In working on a defective front bilge pump float switch, and subsequently flushing out all the nasty that had accumulated, I have a question. There are three bilge pumps...

Re: Newbie to single inboard...
Thanks Larry.
I got a copy of Chapman's after your post last year and it was very helpful. My recent post was just an update on how I solved the problem mechanically.
Thanks,
Dave
