Re: 1988 10 Meter-mid cabin, Need new propellers!
I'll definitely report back on the improvements/changes once done. My decision to stay with three blades vs four came after having it explained and now understanding more of the dynamics and characteristics of a couple of types of propellers...my old original" Dyna Jet" and my new "A...

Re: 1988 10 Meter-mid cabin, Need new propellers!
I can't wait to hear how this goes. Make sure to report back. I want to change my stock mid cabin props so bad. I don't hate the performance of the boat, but I know there has to be more in her. Either better fuel efficiency or higher top speed. I can run: 3000 - 18.5 MPH 3200 - 19.4 MPH 3600 - 21 MP...

Re: 89 mid cabin inverter connection
I wired mine intentionally to do that. It has an internal transfer switch that kicks on when I cut shore power. I’m very intentional about having to turn off the charger breaker before I do that. I have the microwave, AC and water heater always off on my boat. I only turn it on when I need it. I’d l...

Re: Removing velvet drive with boat in water
Also, it looks like my post may be too late. Let us know how it went. I believe I pass your boat on Chittenango creek a few times a year.

Re: Removing velvet drive with boat in water
There should be more than enough room to slide the shaft back. You shouldn’t need to do anything to the packing to make this work. If the rear mounts are attached to the transmission (not sure on your boat), you will likely need to remove them too. Take pictures and mark things to make reinstall a l...

Re: 10 meter mid cabin fuel starve
Cross-over should be after the anti-siphon and before the canister filter and carb filter.
Check with Bob to see if he has the original size anti-siphons. I had to use a different. Size that I found at a local shop.
Even if they look clean, just a little bit of ethanol crap will mess it up…

Re: 10 meter mid cabin fuel starve
If you have the original Rochester quadrajets, check the filter in the carb. Sediment can build up in there. How about the in-line fuel filters too?

Re: Crusader 454 oil/transmission line replacement
@bob I actually had issues with the fittings themselves. They were leaking. Slow oil drip from where they connect to the U cooler. I have ignored it since putting the motors in after my rebuild...enough was enough!

Re: 89 mid cabin emergency power
can anyone explain how the emergency power button on the dash works? I was able to start the port engine but starboard read low voltage (under 12 maybe 10) and would not turn over even when holding down the emergency power button (while port was running) all happening at the dock with battery charg...

Re: Sideshift Stern Thruster Installation
Did my research, called all of the mfg's and the best response came from a company called SideShift. Spoke with Rob Griffin at length and he answered every question and concern I had. This will be going on my 1978 Trojan F26 that has been 100% rebuilt so the investment in a quality thruster was a n...

Re: Crusader 454 oil/transmission line replacement
Just bringing this thread back from the dead... Great and helpful post Bob. I replaced two oil lines on my port motor. What a mess. It wasn’t too tough to do, other than wrench access on the shorter line coming from the bottom of the motor to the U cooler. I ordered two of the hoses online, but when...

Re: 10 Meter Mid Cabin Fuel Tank
Thank You for the info. I will be pulling the boat out of the water soon and will be able to take a closer look before it gets cold here. I will take a good look at the stringers to make sure they are not wet. Did you repair the stringers after you put in the tanks and did you get the same size tan...
