Thanks... but that fix also pointed out another problem.
Thanks for the suggestion... just messed around with the hoses and voila.. must have been a block somewhere.. all working fine.. BUT.... I think the air could be colder... probably original freon.. (Cabin Comfort AC) How do you recharge refrigerant? Is this something best left for the experts?? Than...

SB Water Temp and Fuel Guage pegged to right and not Op
Left last weekend and everything was fine... yesterday... Water temp and fuel guage on Starboard side are now not operating and are pegged to the right. (I think this is a clue as to what may be the problem) Sending unit was replaced last year on Water temp.
Do I have a grounding issue??

Before I call my Lexus driving mechanic... 1978 Express 30 I took off my super structure steaming/anchor light last season and have opted for a low profile LED steaming light... but I cannot see where the darn thing was hooked in to the front block under the instrument panel upstairs... anybody have...

TC, Yes that is the stairs and the corner of the fridge. The hatch was not there but when I put new stingers in the bow I also put in a place to get into the hollow keel, I use this hatch to pump out the keel and keep it dry, it eliminates odors and the bilge pumps never run, I have found most of t...

It is vinyl flooring
Maybe I should have not used the word laminate. I apologize. Trust me with 4 teen aged kids and their friends the floor has been wet and there has been no problem at all. As far as being slippery? The steps going down in to the interior which are solid wood are much more slippery. That being said, l...

I did not have the expertise and did not want to invest that much $$ in teak and holly on this boat. I explored all of the alternatives. I wanted to get away from the carpet because it just did not "fit" in my opinion.. Looked at Plasteak, some stuff sold over in Norway and Amtico teak and...

Wiring Diagram '78 30 Express
I am having some temperamental cabin light issues as in they won't come unless I fiddle with the wiring near the main fuse block panel under the helm. Trying to isolate problem - short - bad wiring ... Suggestions? If I had a diagram I would know which wires to concentrate on... I have searched the ...

White paint does the trick
White paint makes it look like grass cloth wall paper and updates look and lightens the interior up. Sets off the wood nicely also. I would give the paint trick a try before removing.

Have not seen the boat
But I think this boat is on Lanier and has been for sale for some time now. Not that this is bad thing, just giving you some info. Should improve your negotiating position. A classic like this will not attract the numbers like the new plastic Carvers etc..that could be the reason. There are some goo...

Haul out maintenance suggestions while my Trojan is dry
I have to replace my Instatrim Trim Tabs with new cylinders on my 1978 F30 (they are leaking hydraulic fluid so I am thinking the O rings are gone.. time to do it anyway probably) BUT... while it is out of the water, what else should I do besides what I am planning. Inspect Bottom Paint (bottom is 2...
