I was told 2 things shortly AFTER I bought my first boat, the first is boat stands for Break Out Another Thousand, the second is a boat is not an investment. On the bright side, its slightly cheaper than marriage and the boat doesn't whine as much. 8)

You kindof gave the answer yourself, you said they feel fine. so, if you think the guy knows your boat better than you, go ahead and spend the money, I think times are tuff and marinas are trying to find creative ways of paying their bills. I just got a bill for winterizing the 2 air conditioners on...

I bent mine doing a hard port turn at around 30, when I first got my F-36 and used to fly it like a huey. The turn was to avoid a very large floating log which I missed, so I know it wasnt caused by collision. I was told at that point if you lay into a hard turn at speed you can bend them. Im not su...

load it up with bleach and water and keep flushing Yea, the problem with that idea is Peroxides might be formed in the gasoline. Peroxides have the potential to spontaneously oxidize, or combust, that is to say that they catch fire. There is a possibility, then, that by putting bleach into a tank c...

I fully agree with Stripermann. 5200 is great, and you could probably use the stuff to mount your engines, but if you ever need to remove it, youll need a torch, jackhammer and grinder.

This is very common where I am. there was actually a mechanic that ran into one face to face after pulling the mufflers off a 530 carver, he went down a few days later to put the exhaust back together, and there they were staring at each other. just get a pair of flaps for your exhaust, not expensiv...

well, gas floats on water, so if you were careful, you could have let it set for awile and pulled most of the gas off the top. when you get all the gas/water mixture out of the tank, use dawn detergent with water (the dawn will bond to the gas. and pump that out, then rinse a few times. While this i...

I think 6 grand for the job, if everything is included, is a great price. I know where I am (west side of lake Michigan) they start at around 8. If your planing on holding onto the boat and can avoid catching a case of 4 footitis, It would be a great asset to docking for sure.

Does your boat already have a tube? if not, your looking at a glass guy cutting a hole through the front of your boat, and glassing in the tube, then finishing the gel coat. that part alone is alot of work, and can be done correctly only by a very accomplished glass guy. then you need to purchase an...

I agree, this is work you can do yourself, but if you have a truckload of money your trying to get rid of, the marinas here charge 150.00 per engine, 90.00 for fresh water system, 80.00 per air conditioner, and 150.00 for the genset. materials extra. They also recommend an oil change at 125.00 per e...
