Re: Swim Platform Repair
After sanding, it began to look much better and I started to feel like this project was going to work out fine. There were many times that I ran into issues that took a while to figure out how to overcome.
We were leaving on a 10-day cruise and the swim platform needed to be finished before the trip began. I was working on it up until the night before we left for the boat, and the platform was installed with the Cetol not completely dried and needing additional coats. Even so, it looked pretty good to us! Here is a photo from Oxford, Maryland on the first morning of our trip. By the end of the trip, the new wood had darkened in the sun and matched much better than in this photo.
During the trip I got a chance to try out the new swim ladder and am really happy with it. The ladder stows under the platform so it is out of the way. When extended, it has four steps and is easy to get back onto the boat using it. We might have gotten by OK with a three step ladder, but that extra step means you can just step on instead of having to pull your feet up before getting on the ladder.

Re: Swim Platform Repair
Great job. I love the teak swim platform on our early Trojans.
