FUSE OR BREAKER FOR FRIDGE ?
Anyone knows if and where is the breaker or fuse for the refrigerator on a 1983 9 meter int'l express ?
There is nothing on the electrical panel.

Re: FUSE OR BREAKER FOR FRIDGE ?
sorry dont have your boat model but if theres not a specific ac breaker marked its probably piggybacked to a breaker that powers your galley outlets. i would think theres a dc fuse/breaker for it seperately in the dc panel, but who knows. you can pretty much bet there will be some protection fuse etc. somewhere may have to get a look behind the refrigerator for it. i didnt notice you mentioned what fridge model that could be helpful. not coming on could be a on/off switch or the thermostat inside turned all the way down keeping it from turning on

I think mine is 12 volt but it works with all the switches closed. Or maybe is only 110 volt, hmm, I will disconnect the shore power and see.

on the 1983 10 meter, 110 volt system, the port and starboard sides each have their own breaker.

It could be dual voltage 12 and 110 . What is the brand name and model on the unit ?

Re: FUSE OR BREAKER FOR FRIDGE ?
Any thing in the owners manual if it originally had a 12v fridge ? If it had one Trojan would have put a breaker on it and it would be listed in the wiring diagram . If not installed by Trojan I would start tracing wires to make sure it had one along with a switch to cut the power (or a switchable breaker )
Also the dual Voltage units will automatically switch over to 12 volts when you disconnect the shore power .

Re: FUSE OR BREAKER FOR FRIDGE ?
I am waiting for the electrical diagram for the boat.
I will check it then.

Pull the fridge out and check wires going to it with a volt meter. There also may be a fuse there inline. I asked earlier what fridge make model do you have? Would be easier to help.

Re: FUSE OR BREAKER FOR FRIDGE ?
I just turn the refrigerator off when not in use (used rarely) -- dial inside the freezer door on mine.
Motors should run. People -- not so much.
