Hey! I miss you guys...and my F-36!!

The <now> ex-wife flaked out a couple years ago and left. So, I had to sell the F-36 that I so lovingly renovated...and a bunch of my other stuff. I miss that boat dearly. What a solid boat and awesome value the buyer received!

Yesterday was a perfect day and I looked out at my lonely 46' dock - quite sad. I'm starting to look at replacements now. The problem is that when you've renovated a boat, you see all the stuff that needs to be done to the next boat. So, I've learned a really valuable lesson from all this: When you have the right boat and you've done everything to make it reliable, safe and appealing, DON'T SELL IT!

I restored this old mahogany "Goucester Gull Rowing Dory" just to get a temporary fix for my marine addiction. But I'll be back Trojan Boats Forum...

Tony, good to see a post from you again. I always wanted to stop by and see your F36 when I was down that way. I don't think the new owner checked in here. I hope they are taking care of her. We all get attached to these old beauties. What ever became of Brightstar? ? Is the hull still waiting for final buildout?

Hey...nice to see you again and that sweet boat of yours.

The guy who bought mine was from the panhandle and, I think, was going to take advantage of the $2k per day from BP to float around looking for oil droplets after the big spill. He probably paid for her in one month! (what a joke) I heard guys who did that had a blast. They'd fish (and drink) all day and when a tarball would float by they'd scoop it up and toss it in a bucket.

I had 2 contracts for a Brite Star boat before the market tanked and they both pulled out right as the economy and stock market took the big dive. Being a woos, I gave them their deposits back...guess I was overconfident. I manage $ in the stock market for a living and was distracted during the big crash too.
So, I STILL have those brand spankin' new molds sitting in a building gathering dust. (hull, cap and house molds) That had to be the worst timed investment in world history! Now everyone is trying to dump their old molds and I can't give them away. Sad...very sad.

Sad to hear abut the loss of your boat - as far as the wife is concerned, well that could turn out to be a good thing for you in the long run.

A buddy of mine lost his Hatteras in a fire recently ... electrical short in the 120V circuits (rewired in mid 90s). Burned up the interior and the FD broke out the windows to put the fire out. Sad. He's buying it back from Insurance company though - the 450HP CATs, trannies,, hull are all good, so he'll probably do a slow rebuild or pull the gear and put it in a clean boat with bad engines.

I'd snap that 12M up - great price- $59k OBO!

I'm back...and I STILL miss my F-36 and I still miss you guys.

Moreover, I still chuckle at goofs who pay 400k for some bubble shaped boat made to fall apart in 10 years. I'm going to start looking for another Trojan over the next couple months and I can't wait.

Maybe I'll get an international series this time? An F-44? I have two little kids now and need more space...and will worry about the bridge ladder. Cockpit motoryacht??
