36 Tri-Cabin Window screens
I have a 1979 Trojan Tri-cabin and I am in need of 2 main cabin window screens. There are 4 total windows and I have two original window screens. The other two were missing when I bought the boat. I was hoping to make new aluminum screens with the same material or get replacements. Problem is that the screen aluminum extrusion framing is not easily found. Does anyone know where I can get them made or get the extrusions and make them myself? I would use regular old residential screen frames, but they are too thick (5/16" thick or thicker) and these are specifically 3/16" thick. They have to be this thick to fit into the screen channel. Thanks in advance for your input!

Moondance,
My former '74 tri-cabin has been written off by the insurance company due to fibreglass damage due to a nearby boat burning up.
I have seen a photo of this boat (breaks my heart because I spoiled her for sixteen years. I believe the window screens should be fine. Do you want me to check? (forty mile drive one way but I don't mind doing it)
Rick

Sorry to hear about your old boat rickalan. Kudos for going the extra (80) mile(s) for a fellow Trojan owner though.rickalan35 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 07, 2018 10:59 pm Moondance,

I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!

Re: 36 Tri-Cabin Window screens
Thanks for the nice compliments, guys. Much appreciated.
But as usual, every time I volunteer to help, it appears that I chase the other guy away
Right, Prowler??
But you are all totally correct about this Forum. Maybe it's partly because the Beacon Guys were actually involved with these boats and bought up the stock. Maybe it's because so many of these old hulls are still around today and wear like iron. And maybe it's because so many of these boats were manufactured with such a timeless design. I would have to say that once a Trojan owner - always a Trojan owner.
I feel doubly fortunate too, because my first big cruiser was a 1954 34 'Shepherd with 331 hemi's (I was such a menace that first summer, with absolutely no idea what I was doing)........ and Shepherd Boats were later purchased by Trojan.
