The weather was windy with some rain. Not a pleasant ride home -- we were seeing 3 footers on the stern in a very choppy, mixed sea with about 10 miles of fetch. 20-25 knot winds with gusts into the 30's were seen in the afternoon on our course home. Some of the boats heading back to more northern ports were probably seeing about the same except on the stern quarter. Lots of stuff getting thrown around. We had a 2 gallon water jug thrown out of our galley sink, not sure how that could even happen.
The event itself was fun even though they had to change the course to a 2.2 mile swim in the lee of the eastern shore to insure safety of the swimmers and volunteers. At times while on station, our boat was rocking at least 30 degrees to each side. Once I have had some time to process my photos, I will post some.

Re: Bay Bridge Swim 2019
I cant post the video, but here is a screen cap of some of the ride home. Note towel over the gauges, and note how the wiper didnt hardly sweep the water as it passed through the deluge. Never green water over the bow, but no shortage of white water over the canvas. Yee ha!
Last leg outta the bay was before the wind (and the waves). Got some surfing in, I did. Max GPS speed was 17.2 knots.

Re: Bay Bridge Swim 2019
I just got an email saying that the Bay Bridge Swim has been cancelled for 2020. We were looking forward to this, but I guess it would be hard to do all the planning with social distancing.
