F-32 RI Craig's list, asking $7.5K - considering parting out

Post by chucka »

Here is a decent looking '73 F-32 in running condition that's been posted on Craig's list Rhode Island boat pages off and on through the fall and winter.

The price was gradually dropped. Recent asking price was $7.4-7.5K. With no takers, the owner is now considering parting the boat out.

It's a shame he can't find a buyer. What do you think Aaron? Can we run it down here to Middle River and save her?

will, you took the words right out of my mouth. i was looking at her online from time to time yesterday and phil walked by the computer and said, ''don't EVEN think of it. i know what you are thinking. i see the gears turning in that head of yours. isn't one enough?" i just hate to see a fine boat like her become fodder, but, to be honest, i would not have a clue as to how to run her down here. unless, several of us fly up to rhode island, and make it a few days trip. now that i would be up for. god knows there is enough experience between several of us it could work. and, i'm a hell of a good cook to boot. (depending on how her galley is outfitted). it's nice to think about though.

Got to save it. Too many grand old boats are getting torn apart these days. I just missed the opportunity to save a wooden beauty yesterday. If only I'd had $1000

hey jason.... maybe if we ALL pool our funds, especially those of us on the east coast, maybe we can save her. believe me, much to phils dismay, the wheels inside my head are turning about this boat. is she a sport fish or sedan version with an enclosed area? i would just not have any clue how to get her down to the middle river area of baltimore other than taking off her bridge and have her land shipped. i do like the idea of getting a group of guys together and motoring her down here. i would love to do that.

Don't know how much help I'd be financially and don't really have any leave time from work so I'd only be useful for crew and navigation if it were done on a weekend.

Where exactly is it? Wakefield, RI doesn't appear to be on the water.

Aaron, I believe it's called a Flybridge Express (F32)
It has no rear salon glass/doors, no cockpit railing due to the cockpit floor sitting about 6" lower. (High gunnels in the aft section)

Same hull as the 32 sedan though...

I know someone who bought a Trojan F-32 FB Express out of Edwards on Frog and Mortor Creek. Middler River fans know the boat yard. Mike paid (get this,) 4500.00 for a this 74 F-32. Boat had been repowered both engines and trans. 351 Ford's. Had Lee out riggers, tackel center built in to the cockpit on the port side, swim platform, awning over the cockpit etc. He put a little bit of work into it. Turned around and sold it to someone on the Eastern Shore a year later. I would have given my left you know what for a deal like that. The original owner bought a 46' post Sport Fisherman and wanted to get rid of the Trojan. BTW the 46 Post is my favorite boat but I couldn't afford the fuel to run it. Oh Well !!!!

John .... I ran into one of the 1976 F32s for sale in Middle River (Tradewinds had it) back in September. He got about the same deal, maybe for a hair less then Mike paid. I looked at that boat 3 or 4 times over the last 18 months .... if I'd had known he was going to let it go that cheap, I think I would've jumped on it.....and let my Bayliner go.

Sorry guys, Having been through it once, I know what it takes and I'm not up for starting again. I think my next boat will have a tall pole sticking out of the deck to hang triangular pieces of cloth from. Somehow, I don't think that fuel prices are going to stay where they are very long. If OPEC doesn't get us, the government will.

I'm with you will. That Trojan's original asking pride was twelve, then dropped to eight. Mike went over to look at a Silverton. He was told the Silverton was sold but there was this F-32 Trojan. My favorite, although I own an F-31. Anyway, to make a long story short, Mike told the gentleman that he only had 4500 and guy let him have the boat with everything in it, dishes etc. The only major thing was that the A/C was bad. He replaced that and did a major tune on the engines, the rest was cosmetic. Story of my life, day late and a dollar short.
