Toilet removal on 10 meter
On the 1986 10 meter how do you get the toilet out of the molded fiberglass support. Do you strip all the calking around the seams and after removing hoses etc, it will lift out?

Re: Toilet removal on 10 meter
One more question. After it is removed are there any toilet systems with macerator attached that will drop in. Looks like a pretty big space and with today's newer technology with built in macerators and 90 degree outlets just wondering if anyone has tried to drop another system in. Not a vaccuflush one. Thanks

Re: Toilet removal on 10 meter
Have researched toilets and other boat forums. Right now top of the list is the Raritan Sea Era QC model for an install next to the existing molded in toilet.(Or may just cut some of the old toilet structure out and mount there. Have to look at that once we get the old toilet out.) Can use the existing fresh water supply, discharge hose and power. That model also give the option at the flip of a switch of using raw water as well. Two bowel sizes. Now the task is to find reviews and best price. So far best price is $629.00.
Thanks for the reply.

Re: Toilet removal on 10 meter
been using the FACTORY vaccuflush since I bought this boat for 19 years
its been trouble free
previous owner had this boat for 18 years
37 years total
no issues
I did replace the pump and seals once during my 19 years of ownership
also, replaced the toilet seat once and the duckbill valves twice in that 19 year span.
When discussing sanitary systems with other boat owners, it seems the Vaccuflush (Dometic) system is nearly impossible to beat
Simple
effective
easy to maintain
economical to operate
few moving parts
reliable
well thought out
uses very little fresh water
does not get stopped up
does not smell
no $hit !

Re: Toilet removal on 10 meter
Not going to use raw water. Old toilet out. Looking at the Dometic 7220 or Raritan Sea Era QC fresh water, compact bowl, for both. Might be able to put either one in the cavity where the VF sat. Dometic uses same water and discharge line sizes. Raritan same discharge size but water is 3/4. System is within 6 feet of pump so can handle that with new hose. Got to do a little more research to see if either would drop in the hole, make a new base in the hole and than can just enclosed as appropriate. Can't find much in the way of reviews on either one to get an idea of best choice. Believe cost will be about the same. Thanks for your replies.

Re: Toilet removal on 10 meter
Ok, can close out the toilet subject. Finally found a Raritan Sea Era QC in Defender's link. Will ship tomorrow. Dometic had shut down for virus, so all 5 local dealers in the area (Destin to Mobile) had nothing. Jabasco was third option but understand they are now a Chinese firm and their reviews weren't the best, so paid the price and went with Raritan. Needed something before Snapper season. May be able to build it into existing cavity, but if not can still make it work. Thanks for the help.
