On my 79' F-28 with two Chrysler Marine 318's I am having a charging system issue. I had a battery go down and I checked with my volt meter to see if the alternator was putting out and it was not. So I replaced it and still not charging. I suspected the voltage regulator next so I switched it with the one on the other known working VR from the other engine and still no joy.
At this point I suspect a bad wire somewhere in the system. Unless, there is another module of some kind that I am not aware of. Any thoughts?

Re: Charging System
Have the replacement alternator tested? It’s possible...

Re: Charging System
Check all the wire conations . But you could up grade to a 1 wire internal regulator alternator . I have done it on several boats .
