We often get asked about how the top hat thermostat works and is installed.
Here are a few pictures.
Note: Inside the thermostat housing is a seal -- that seal must be in good condition. If not, you will need to replace the housing. We have the Top Hat thermostat gasket and the thermostat housing in stock. Note: In this application, the cooling water will not circulate correctly without the thermostat.
