1986 43ft. International Express

Hi guys me again. I was looking at a 1986 11 meter express and you all offered up some great info. That deal is on hold BUT, I found a 43 foot express. Would that be a 13 meter? Any way what do you know about this model? Does it have a cored hull like the 14 meter or solid glass? Also does it have the dou- conic hull design?

Based on the success of the 10 Meter, introduced in 1981 the International series was expanded to 10.8 11, 12, 13 and 14 meter vessels.

The International Series were built in Lancaster, PA and all share the Delta Conic Hull design by Harry Schoell, and numerous other innovative and then groundbreaking engineering, design and construction features that at the time were new to the industry.

Form the hull design to stringer construction and limited use of wood below the waterline to the curved windshields, windshield washers and red lights above the main electrical panel the features of these Mediterranean styled vessels were soon copied throughout the industry.

As an orphaned brand, these vessels are often overlooked and undervalued in the marketplace.

There has been some discussion on this website as to exactly which of the Internationals were built wit a cored hull. No definitive answer has yet arisen.

RWS, Thanks you seam to know these boats very well. No survey as of yet. I just found this vessel online last week,have e-mail and phone calls in on her. She does have JT 6-71 450hp diesels for power and I am finding out people have mixed opinions about these engines. The way I see it your damed one way or the other ie. 454s way under powered and gas hogs, Detroits good power but if they need work it costs more than the boat is worth. Repower not an option at this time. I'll keep everybody posted. We still need to get to the point of doing a survey (both hull and engine). I hope to be able to talk to the broker this week. If I keep trying hard enough I'll be a Trojan owner.
