Trojan ID Plate

Greetings all initiated:

I am looking to purchase a 1969 36' Trojan with a flybridge. Two questions:

1. How do I identify the model (e.g. Sea Voyager or Sport Fisher or ________ ?)

2. Is there a Trojan boat ID plate mounted somewhere inside the boat that would indicate year manufactured, model name, serial number etc.? I don't know where to begin to look for this.

I had a 69 31'er. On that boat the ID Plate was screwed to a hinged panel right below the steering wheel. The DC power panel was also screwed to the panel. It was the access to the back of the engine gauges and all the wiring. The ID Plate is made of aluminum and is about 2X4 with the information stamped into it.
I don't know where Trojan put the ID Plate on your 36'er, but I would start by look around the lower helm for it.

I hope this boat checks out. I am drunk with the love and (sometimes) misery that comes with these floatation devices. I owned a 1948 27' LaBruzzi and Sons cabin cruiser for 12 years and the joys outweighed the hassles.

Can't wait to be back on the water. I am reading a lot about Trojans and am feeling better about the manufacturer the more I read.

Sea Voyagers are carvel planked. Sea Skiff's are lapstrake. Sea Sprite's are smooth plywood. The door under the steering wheel where the 12 volt fuses are should have your id plate attached. that's where it is on my 67.
