on my 78 f32 i have both a purasan and holding tank with a y installed. these were both already installed when i purchased the boat but the waste holding tank is located under the v berth. the deck pumpout is on the port side of the deck. after looking around i really dont know much other place to have put the holding tank. its sitting on a little frame made under it and takes up most of the space under the berth. i have the valve switched to overboard so i am not using it currently it but the previous owner did, he used the purasan and dumped the waste into the holding tank he did not know about the y valve. so i suspect the systems were both installed even before he had the boat. but if anything ever changes i can just switch the valve to the holding tank. i beleive my holding tank is 20 gallon

Holding Tank
I purchased my tank online along with a new Raritan electric head. My tank is located under the v-berth. It is about 38-40 gallons. I had to take the door and frame out to get the tank in the front cabin but it was not a big deal only about 12 screws to remove and the whole thing comes out. Check plastic-mart.com model B-101 I think was the model number. It is a V-shaped tank that takes up most of the space under the v-berth. Almost looks like it was custom made to fit the f-32. I braced it in place with some oak blocking and then after the tank sensor and hoses were all connected, I foamed it in place along the perimeter to keep it from moving. Works great. They can custom install the fittings anywhere you want them on the tank. Mine are two vents on either side of top of tank, inlet in front center of top of tank and drain in bottom rear of tank. I installed a surface mounted exterior tank level monitor on it before install.

Check out the raritan site. http://www.raritaneng.com/pdf_files/hol ... 165htw.pdf
They have a tank that is 38 gallons mold 38B101. I think they buy their tanks from plastic-mart. Call plastic mart and give them the B101 model number and they can e-mail you specs and you can choose your connection locations on the tank with the size of the connection and send it back and they will quote the price. I can't remember how much mine was. Seemed like between 90 and 120 bucks?
This tank fits the F-32 v-berth like a glove. This is probably who Trojan used from the start.
