greetings all... just wanted to post some 'spring 2009' pics of the boat.
we had to have the flybridge canvas restitched after we put it up (the zipper pockets ripped open when we put it up last week) our canvas guy (sscanvas in middle river) and his assistant saved the day on saturday..... took the bimini top to them at 0900 sat morning, and they did a complete restitch of the entire top in one hour. cost? 70 bucks. this place is amazing and they do fantastic work.
enjoy.... aaron and the crew of EVENT HORIZON

hi will (LSP) to answer your canvas question, no, sscanvas did not do the one that is on there now. mike at essex boat sales cannot/will not tell me who, where or when that enclosure was made. i tried several times over the winter to contact the previous owner about things like this (and mechanical questions) but as of this date, i have yet to hear from him. i think he just gave up and does not care one way or the other which i think is criminal to say the least. personally, i believe that when a vessel is sold, records or a log book should be handed to the new owner just as a precaution. but, then again, dad kept EVERYTHING that was done on the tri cabin for 37 years---yes, boxes and boxes of files etc....even the ORIGINAL SALES CONTRACT!! but that is just the way he did things. anyway, scott's assistant michelle did the restitch and said she believes the bimini is about 3 years old. she said that if they take care of the washing, waterproofing and storing next winter, it should last another 3-4 barring any storms etc..... i cannot say enough good things about sscanvas though. good work ethic, fair price and they will not finish a job until it is done correctly. so, if you need work done (they did my aft cockpit cover in one week in october and came in at around 700.00 using sunbrella fabric and goretex thread. he even stitched in reinforcement bands for the back rail so it did not put added stress on the fabric. and all the snaps are exactly evenly spaced for 'curb appeal'. that is how amazing scott is when he does a job.

When I had my boat pulled for the season, Mike said he had something for me. I went into the office and he handed me a package .... it contained the original books and brochures that came with the boat. It also had a ton of receipts from the last owner (who now lives in SC) with various comments and notes written about the boat. He had the info. from Weavers who replaced the engines. He took the time to write notes for me about a bunch of stuff. Much much more the I ever expected.
I never had the chance to meet the previous owners, but the "care package" I received told me more about them and my boat then I could have ever hoped for. What a surprise and a nice thing to be passed on. I will continue keeping and updating the info. and someday ....hopefully I can pass this on to her next caretaker.
