Reason I say this is because the GenSet starter battery and the house battery are wired together in series BUT drawn off them directly. Bascially the generator is wired Positive and Negative on one battery and then the House is wired on posituve and negative on the other battery but they are wired together in series. I suppose this makes them 2 batteries together. I'm not sure how that works.

The way you are showing the set up, you have 2 banks of the batteries in parallel. There is nothing wrong with this set up; in fact, it is a common way of increasing the amount of storage capacity of the batteries. The only problem with this type of set up is if one of the batteries fails, it will also drain the other battery. You could put in battery switches and keep the batteries isolated from each other.

From your other post you talked about replacing your genset with an inverter. Most inverters have built in battery chargers. You may want to decide what you want to do before buying a new charger. You wouldn’t need both an inverted and a charger.

If you go with an inverter you should also conceder installing a high output alternator on one of the engines. Run the inverted off the engine with the high output alternator.

i knowImage what your talking about. i fryed 2 group 27 deep cycle batteries last year because my on board charger crapped out. instead of 1 charger to do all 4 batteries ,i purchased 2 seperate chargers that will handle 2 batteries each they have built in computers that monitor the batteries and will not over charge them. i got guest 2620's they work great

I don't agree with this setup as shown... I can see the value of twin batteries on one circuit but not across two as above.
Something to consider is how Trojan supplies DC power to it's systems from the batteries.. not sure how the 44 is setup but on my F32 the lighting, instrumentation etc: is fed from one engine's harness. So were I to do the above wiring I could end up with both engine starting batteries dead!
Here is how I did mine:
each engine has it's own standalone battery which can be coupled on starting using the little red button on my dash.
The house is standalone.
I use a 40A Xantrex 3 bank charger for those 3.
The genny has it's own battery which is not connected to the charging system. Onan manual is very clear that the genny charges it's own starting battery and that it should not be charged by another charger. (likely not a problem when in port and genny off.... my mind spins at the thought of being at anchor and the charger combining with the genny on that battery).
