My charts are in the boat, but I'm guessing it's about 100 miles from Philadelphia via the Delaware River and C&D Canal. We haven't been that far South yet into the Chesapeake. So figure 200 miles round trip, putting it at about 100+ gallons. Hopefully the tides and wind will be in our favor. With anchoring overnight on the way there and back, it shouldn't be too expensive of a trip overall. We're all 12-volt (no generator), with 360 watts of solar panels on the hard top powering our cabin, so fuel is consumed only for motoring.

Wes,
That sounds good. I totally understand you coming down earlier than I expected. I will be leaving friday because of work. Our long vacation is in July, so I will be spending all our resources on that time block. I have been wanting to come down to the rendevous for the last two years but could not make it happen. This year makes up with time off from work. I am not to excited about no pool because of my two young daughters. We usually go to St Michaels Marina and they have a pool right by the docks. Higgins is too far away if I stay at that marina. I would be missing the whole function if I stayed there. I am not complaining but I know the kids love a pool. There are nice things to do down there. The have the Crab Claw Restaraunt " Cash Only" and other places and some bars at the other marinas. Every thing is in walking distance. Great place for the family to shop around while you tinker around on the boat.

Hi Butch,
Bring the girls and I'll fill my inflatable with water for them or they could go shopping. That might not leave you with enought money for fuel to return home. LOL Maybe we could all find a swimming hole close by. I don't know the area but at my age and shape I don't spend much time in a pool. Besides, with a boat, who has time for pools? It looks like we're getting some people responding. I spoke with Cathy yesterday and she thinks she has between 7 and 9 reservations and that the marina is starting to run out of slips. PS. Next year maybe everyone could come up to Cedar Island. We have a pool, a great restaurant and shuttle service available. Just think of how the economy would be stimulated with all the fuel used.

Oh thanks. I wasn't aware of that. I checked the big book chart. My brother-in-law bought the Del/Ches book for me as a boat present. I think it was like $150 and I wouldn't have done so for myself. But it is really nice to have. The mileage chart puts St. Michaels at 120 from Philadelphia. I'll check the Google site to see if it confirms.
