restoreable boat ?

restoreable boat ?

hi all ,my son has a 27 ft trojan boat cabin crusier and the guy that was the previous owner has miss placed the title and so we don`t know what we have . the only thing we know about this boat is that it has a ford motor 190 horse v8 and that the seat in the cabin cusier say`es manufachered in 1967 , it needs restored and it has the trailer with it. any thought or suggestions . the boat is located in Carboncliff IL my cell ph# is 309-779-8217 thanks \mike \6-30 thanks for reponses would it be awaste to burn the wood and sell the hardware motor trans good cabin parts seats & covers etc...,.

with out a title (or docutation )the boat is worthless and in many states you are breaking the law selling it without one

If you are still in touch with the previous owner you can do a bill of sale from him to you. In Ohio you take that to the title bureau and they will trace with the HID to issue you a title.

if the title is .in previous owners name and lost he can get a duplate .Other wise good luck . check with the state on what you need . many people end up stuck with boats they pay for do not own.

here in NJ, you can sell an older boat without a title, providing you can supply them with a pencil tracing of the Hull number, I bought two boats that way, they will issue another title in your name, so maybe you can title it here in NJ, and then sell it to yourself in another state, hey its been done
