ha ha!! true enough!!! I wasn't super worried, because I know the pump has a float switch and it hadn't come on by itself.... and the boat does have that hollow keel, doesn't it?
So, guys.... thought I'd give you a little update on our mysterious water..... The float switch on the forward bilge pump has been triggered many times in the last month since we bought this boat.... comes on every 3 days or so (maybe 2?) and pumps out gallons! It seems to go for ever and ever in the wee hours of the morning when you're woken up by it.
I knew it had to be somewhere forward of the cabin door, because the engine room is always dry... so it's filling up the hollow keel and staying forward...
All the thru-hulls looked good.... nothing seemed amiss when we pulled it out of the water a few weeks ago for bottom painting...
Finally found it!! There are 2 old thru-hull transducers on the starboard side, bottom, under the dinette. One of them is weeping water, so slowly you can't even see it happening..... but it's happening!
We're going to fix it this weekend.... but thought i'd share the story... not a bad thing to double check!
