Hurricane Isabelle of 2006

Post by Stripermann2 »

Anyone notice anything unusual here, other than a vent missing from my boat? LOL

Came across an old photo of my boat at dock, well, you really can't see the dock...Hurricane Izzy's tidal surge in 2006 covered all the docks and most of the dock boxes. Here in this pic, the water has receded and local friends gathered up items and put them into the cockpit to keep from floating away.September will soon be upon us. Hopefully, no more big storms!

WOW! At least your boat is still sitting there and not damaged.

remids me of when i was a kid and hurricane agnes came ripping up the east coast. we had our 31' broadwater cruiser at capitol yacht club in washington, dc. as the water was covering the piers, dad packed us all up, we headed to the boat with food and supplies and cast off to anchor out in the channel. we were one of about 50 vessels to do that and it was one of the best decisions of the time. we didn't get much sleep but the adventure and memories will last a lifetime.

Aaron, I too had a 31' Broadwater, kept it in Arnold on the Magothy.
It was a simple and fun plywood boat...
