Source for machine screws

Post by Nancy »

I'm looking for 1/4 x 5" stainless steel oval head phillips drive machine screws. I can find them in quantities of 100, but I only need six. I also need the stainless washers and acorn nuts to go with them. These are for the railing stanchions on the flybridge.

Ideas?

Your local ACE hardware store might have them ... they're hard to find. Lowes and Home Depot won't have 5" long 1/4-20s.

Look for FASTENAL Fasteners Inc locally - high price, but they might have it where you can pick it up.

If all else fails, order online from MARFAS or JAMESTOWN distributors ... or McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com) is expensive, but has every fastener you can dream of.

Rossjo,

Thanks for the manufacturer name. I'm pretty sure my local Ace doesn't have them.

Jamestown Distributors only has them in quantities of 100. :( I'll check the others.

Peter,

I don't see them on WM web site . . . maybe they're not a catalog item. I don't have much hope of find them in my local, badly-stock WM store, but I will look.

Thanks--

2 great sources I've found and used are online: http://www.boltdepot.com and wwwmcmastercarr.com. If you can't find what you're looking for here it's not available in the universe.

Wow, boltdepot is a great resource! Between that and McMaster-Carr, I should be all set.

Thanks to all.
