Your thermastats are likely between 120-140 degrees. They should be the same. Engines should stablize at the same temp, even at low idle and remain at that temp regardless of rpms.

Check the impellers on your external raw water pumps first. If chunks of rubber is missing, and you have tranny or oil coolers, the rubbe chunks are likely stuck in the cooler inlets. If not, the chunks often get stuck in the thermastat housing.

And you thermostats and gauges may not be very accurate.

You can by an InfraRed Thermometer for < $100 to measure exact temps and calibrate (even if you just make mental corrections) your gauges ...

How's this for conversation?
Two months ago stab engine suddenly started to run cold. Figured 'stat was stuck open. Decided to change both. Prior both engines ran @ 140'ish. They ran at that temp whether idling or under load.
Pulled out 2 identical 142' stats and installed two new 140' stats. First run out port engine 155', stab 160' both climbed to that temp under load and cool down to 145' and 150' at slow speeds. That weekend put on approx 6 hrs with no change.
Comments gentlemen.
