10m mid cabin express ('87-'89) - which transmission model?
Looking to purchase a repair manual and found:
VELVET DRIVE 70c-73c
Would this cover it?
thanks,
Bob

thanks, I actually haven't bought the boat yet, will check..
next week.
If it's not too much trouble, a copy of the 71/72 would be great. That's probably close enough for general info/repairs and would be a good start.
BTW, the boat I'm looking at has never had the trans fluid changed - it's an '88 . Possibly by a prior owner but certainly not in the past 7 years.
What's the maintenance interval on these?
thanks,
Bob

Not picking on you Paul.... but if you look at one of the containers that the fluid comes in.... it is Dexron, Not Dextron.prowlersfish wrote:Once a year but most folks do it never or less , I will send it out to you most things have not changed . The newest fld is Dextron v ( any dextron is ok )

I have been in the automotive parts business for about 27 years and only one time did I have someone pronounce it correctly.

This is a link to the service manuals for Borg Warner Velvet Drive Transmissions 71C-72C. I think it covers all models up to 1986.

It was easier when it was type A or type F
