Canvas.....

Post by pk »

Hi! I still have problems with getting a canvas for my 10M Express. I have spoked with several "Canvasguys" here in Norway, but got no result. Therefor I´ll need help from you guys. One canvas in blue fabric, prefer good condition but no must. ASAP!

You could buy canvas from 10 boats like yours and a good chance none will fit . as 99% off all canvas you will find is custom made , some newer boats come with pre made canas but most of it is cheap stuff trha wont last .

Keep shoping around there must be at least one decent canvas guy/gal around

Sorry Paul! Norway is a small country, only 5 Million people. I know we are a people made by fishermen, sailors and people working in naval sites. But when we buy boats over here, we buy a total different "package" boat. We buy boats made ready for cold climate, arctic areas, and these boats are both insulated and canvas ready..... But then you have a few people over here that loves all the stuff coming from USA. I one of theese guys. My cars have allways been Dodges, Fords and GMs, my aircraft is a Piper. Then it was quite natural that I choose a boat from USA.... Canvas guys over here don´t grow on threes, they are rare.

So the boats sold in Norway with canvas never wear out and require new canvas? I'm sure they do and who makes the new canvas? Go to that guy..... maybe you should take a weekend trip to the UK with your boat to get the canvas done!

A Google search from here in Canada turned up a company named Kalesje Vest in Norway.

My canvas guy "DUDE!" would probably do it to get away from his father for awhile. You could fly down & get him. Seriously you may get him to make one for you. He'll tell you how to measure it. He likes a challenge.

If nothing else he'll be fun to talk too. J & S Marine Baldwinsville, NY 315-622-1095 ask for Chris.
